Burny Fernandes Super Grade RLG-70 Tobacco Burst 1990s Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have a Burny Fernandes Super Grade RLG-70 in Tobacco Sunburst finish. Made in Japan circa. 1990’s, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 Medium Jumbo fret Rosewood fingerboard. This instrument is equipped with Nickel hardware including a Tune-O-Matic bridge and a StopBar tailpiece along with a set of Kluson style tuning machines. The Pickups are a pair of Burny VH-1 humbuckers, wired to the standard Les Paul control layout. 

The Mahogany neck sits comfortably in the hand, with a profile resembling a 50s Rounded shape feeling chunky in the hand whilst also providing a smooth and articulate playing experience. The Rosewood fingerboard feels pleasant under the fingers and provides a smooth playing surface for the user to explore, along with the 12” radius and Medium Jumbo frets making bending and vibrato techniques a breeze. The familiar lines of the body feel great in the arms.

The Burny VH-1 humbucker in the neck position sounds thick and full, with a rich low end great for rhythm tonalities. The middle position provides a punchy, tight midrange great for chordal styles of playing whilst being able to cut through a mix. The Burny VH-1 humbucker in the bridge position produces a clear and articulate top end, balancing very well with a punchy output, providing a great feel and clarity, allowing the player to achieve a wide variety of tones all at the fingertips.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition, all four top corners demonstrate chipping of the finish revealing the wood beneath. Light circular scratching is apparent to the front face surrounding the machine heads.

Neck: Overall very good condition, the rear of the neck demonstrates light scratching and indentation throughout the register. This is only very slightly felt under the thumb in playing position and does not affect the overall playability of the instrument.

Body: Overall very good condition, notable cracking to the finish is apparent running across the lower bout of the front face and rear. This appears stable and should not worsen through regular use. All aspects of the body demonstrate light scratching and indentation, most notable to the bass side of the lower bout and the centre of the rear.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate very light signs of use, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (4mm hex) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional with moderate signs of wear, most notably oxidation to the tailpiece and bridge.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm
