The Low Rider Jazz Bass pickups were developed with the idea of making a hum-canceling pickup set with a classic vintage single-coil tone, but being dead quiet when using an active preamp. We wound these pickups so the bridge pickup has more output for a better volume balance with the neck pickup, so still has a classic more 70’s tone. The Low Riders use Alnico 5 magnets but have higher center magnets for better string-to-string balance.
