The Alembic bass is a uniquely handcrafted instrument made in Santa Rosa, California. This beautiful Elan bass features a run through neck made of maple and walnut, flame maple body with walnut veneer and has an equally beautiful sound. This features the “Q-switch” Alembics are known for that, in simple terms, allows you to control the accent of the note you are playing. This Bass the Serial Number indicates 1995 but the Spec Sheet says 1996, the Owner says he purchased it in 1996, it is such a sweet

ELAN HISTORY:
The first Elan was made for a customer in Japan that wanted a very Jazz looking bass (the "H" in the Elan serial number is for "Hojin"). Take an Elan and shave 1/4" off and voila, Europa emerges. The first Europa was made for Ron that used to work at the Bass Centre in LA way back when. These were the first bodies with tummy and elbow carving standard.
CONDITION: This Bass is found in Excellent condition, I have known the Owner of this Bass since it was new, it has been Adult Owned by a Non Smoker, it is in Excellent Shape stem to stern. It shows a little play wear but no heavy marks or damage at all. It Includes the Hard Shell Case you see, the Owner had to add extra Latches for safety.
