The BTB1005 is a five-string BTB series solid-body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in 1999. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The BTB1005 features a curly maple top on a mahogany body bolted to a maple and Bubinga neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with abalone dot position markers. The body has a double cutaway design with very distinctive, narrow, curving horns. Components include a pair of Ibanez Custom soap bar passive pickups with an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, stainless steel (flush) frets, Mono-rail bridges with 16.5mm string spacing, a locking Neutrik output jack, a plastic nut, and Gotoh tuning machines.
The cable lock on the Neutrik jack gave out, so about a week ago, I replaced it with an identical new one. It is a terrific instrument.
