Started in the early 1980s by Hans Peter Wilfer whose father ran Framus guitars. The company started by copying the famous Spector NS designed curved body bass in the early 1980s then adapted the design for the ubiquitous thumb bass. Other iconic designs followed like the Dolphin and Buzzard all of which were through neck basses made in West Germany. In the early 1990’s the company to moved to East Germany and started their bolt-on range of instruments, the Corvette and Fortress. Many variations of these basses exist and Warwick now produce basses in China, Korea, Czech Republic and Germany.
A nice example of the German made series bass with Ovankol Neck and Swamp ash body – plenty of great sounds on tap. Presented in good overall condition with original Warwick gig bag.
