About This Listing

I know this is a Kay. I believe it to be mid-60's, based on it being nearly identical in finish and zipper binding as an acoustic I had from 1965, and a catalog pic from '68. The are no other markings or stamps that I can see. It is a very nice and quite clean guitar. It has pick-shaped fret markers. Plays well and sounds great. Needs nothing. Comes in a nice Ibanez Hard Case. As always, I highly encourage a FaceTime video call to see, hear and measure it all for you to be clear on what you are buying. There are no refunds, so please ask your questions before purchasing.

Product Overview
Kay was one of the largest musical instrument manufacturers in the world during the mid-20th century, producing instruments sold under many different names over the years. Specimens manufactured before the company was sold in 1968 are still sought after by many collectors.

The Kay Speed Demon was a thinline semi-hollowbody electric guitar with a Florentine cutaway and an optional Bigsby tremolo. It was available with one, two or three pickups, with market value increasing slightly for specimens with more pickups.
