This Guitar was made by Gibson Kalamazoo in 1939. It is ladder braced and very lightweight. These guitars were made for Montgomery Ward by Gibson. Mahogany neck and body, spruce top and rosewood fingerboard. No cracks or repairs. The body shape is like a L00 with a slightly longer (12 fret!) body. We think it was originally built as a Hawaiian guitar, but it never had a square neck. The neck is V-shaped and the action is very low. A great little blues- or fingerpicking guitar. The string pins and the tuning machines have been replaced because the old ones became unusable because of material fatigue. I had a KK pure mini pickup installed to make the guitar useable on stage. I still have the original end pin. This is not so much a collectors item but a great instrument with an old soul. They don´t make them like this anymore...
Comes in a non original hard shell case.
