2014 Gibson Five-String EB Bass in great original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the Gibson hardshell case and hangtag. Offered only from 2013-2016, this discontinued model of the EB series features a unique contoured offset body shape, a pair of Alnico V humbuckers with individual coil taps, a Babicz Full Contact bridge, set-neck, and a limited run satin cherry finish.
This fine insturment features a swamp ash body with a satin-finished maple neck, rosewood fretboard and weighs in at a very well balanced 9lbs 11oz. The newly-designed humbuckers are wound particularly hot, metering at 11.2k ohms in the neck position and a whopping 16.8k ohms at the bridge. These humbuckers offer rich thump, midrange growl and articulate treble grind. The push/pull coil taps on the two volume controls enable single coil functionality for brighter sounds that have more upper midrange articulation, burp and cut. Engaging one of the coil taps (while leaving the other pickup in humbucker mode) is an excellent way to keep the sound fat, while providing additional clarity for the low B string.
The maple neck has a slender D-shaped profile. The rosewood fretboard has pearloid dot inlay and the 12th fret “120th Anniversary” inlay. The medium jumbo frets are pristine and the bass plays cleanly up the full 34” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod.
It's got some belt buckle rash, and a few dings here and there but nothing I would consider a show-stopper and they are well documented in the photos.
The original Gibson brown tolex hardshell case with form-fit pink plush interior is included, along with the factory hangtag.
