I am offering for sale this beautiful Perlgold German parlor guitar with a composite decorated rosette – beautifully preserved, checked and fully playable piece with both a great sound and looks!
The guitar was made by the Kurt Gropp (Perlgold) company in Markneukirchen, approximately on the verge of 1940s and 50s. It is preserved in a very nice condition and all authentic including the varnish. The top is made from solid silked spruce with coloured layered purfling and a composite wooden rosette with ladder bracing, and the guitar has a very comfortable, straight maple neck with an ebonized fretboard, the brass tuners are also vintage and work very well. There were some cracks in the top, now properly treated (glued/cleated) and they do not impair the sound or integrity of the instrument in any way.
All in all, this a remarkable, very light and sonorous historical instrument, ready to be played and cherished.
The scale lenght is 622 mm, nut width 58 mm, string spacing at bridge (E to e) is 45 mm and at the moment, it is strung up with a new set of low-tension nylon strings.
I just love old guitars and mandolins – and always do my best to satisfy those who purchase them from me! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like any further information. I always pack super carefully and ship worldwide! The instrument will be shipped insured using priority post. Please contact me anytime for other options (UPS etc.)
