These guitars were made in a furniture factory in Bucharest, Romania.

Doina was the first factory of stringed instruments in Romania, even though some are considering Hora Reghin to be the first, Doina factory started manufacturing of stringed instrument in the early 40s.

This model appeared in the 70s in "Sereneda" lineup and it consisted of different pickup configurations but maintain the same body design.

It is actually a copy of Teisco guitar and is having a solidwood body and neck, not plywood.

I think that the body is alder and the neck is maple with walnut fretboard.

The pickups are German made Schaller and all of the rest of electronics are Japan made.

The guitar was fully restored and it has new Fender medium jumbo frets.

The neck profile is very chuncky, is really like a baseball bat but it’s comfortabl.

It plays nice, the action is medium but it's playable without buzz and it stays good in tune.

Pickups are having a nice vintage tone, very distinctive, and the electronics are working fine.

It is a very nice exemple of how people built instruments during Cold-War, trying to offer alternative of import guitars.

It saw a lot of action and this kind of relic couldn't be replicated by Murphy Lab :)).
