Up For Sale is my "Lawsuit Era" Hondo II Les Paul. As it shows in the photos, it does have the "open book" headstock which is the ONLY thing Gibson EVER filed suit over. It also carries the Diamond design.
I purchased this guitar a few years back with the intention of restoring it. One of the first things I noticed about it was the neck had been repaired at some point in time (see photos) However, after finding the truss rod in working order and the rest of the guitar working and in not bad condition. I decided to do a clean up of sorts. Leaving the natural relic'ing. It came to me without a nut or bridge. So, I added a Zero Glide zero fret system, and a higher end Epiphone Tune O Matic Bridge.
This guitar plays well, with a low action. Upon taking the photos, I was in the middle of re-installing the Pick ups. The Pick ups are original and were microphonic. I just potted them and there are no longer microphonics from them. They really are quite hot sounding. I dig them. I will try to get some audio up in this ad.
