Tom Hamilton's Aerosmith, Fender 1953 Precision Bass (TH2 #3) PLUS Stage Worn Leather Jacket and Boots!! AUTHENTICATED!
We just received another round of basses from Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith. Tom is a founding member of Aerosmith. After 50 years in one of the hardest touring bands ever, he’s accumulated so much gear that’s he’s asked us to help put it in the hands of people who can love it as much as he has. This gear has made rock and roll history on the world’s largest stages and most intense studio scrutiny. Now it’s your turn to take it, and make your own rock history.
From the Tom Hamilton Aerosmith Collection.
This bass is the oldest and perhaps the most significant piece in our entire Aerosmith collection. This is one of two nearly identical 1950s Fender Precision basses Tom Hamilton played since the very earliest days of Aerosmith. He used them live and in the studio through the mid 1970s. In the early photos the bass appears to be cream colored with a white pick guard. Actually, the pick guard was been removed and shows the brighter white paint in the shadow of the pick guard that contrast the more faded exposed body.
This bass shows a lot of original wear from the early days on the road. We left it the way we got it from Tom. It was checked out by his tech. The pick up and bridge covers were removed long ago. Two of the original bridge saddles were lost and replaced with modern. All other parts are original. No notable issues.
In full disclosure, there is what appears to be an identical Fender Precision bass of this era in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that was purportedly Tom Hamilton's. When I showed Tom photos of that bass he said he had no recollection of ever giving a bass like this to the Hall of Fame.
The bass being sold in this listing was acquired directly from Tom Hamilton and includes a COA signed by Tom Hamilton andis identified by an Aerosmith inventory tag. Also included is the hardshell Fender case and one of his pics.
Just to make the whole thing a little more interesting we've included Tom's stage worn brown leather jacket.
Serious offers considered.
