Rare Gibson A-5 Florentine Artist Model Carved Top Mandolin (1959), made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # A-31891, cherry sunburst top, dark back and sides finish, maple back and sides, spruce top, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard. The two point A-5 is most associated with master mandolinist Jethro Burns, who played a specially made custom example with a cherry finish through the 1960s. This is a very clean mandolin with a beautiful finish with some light checking, showing minor play wear to be expected from a vintage instrument. Plays well and sounds great! Sold with case.
