Ken Smith is a New York, USA brand that produces top quality electric basses.

This model uses a body shape called BSR.

BSR is a model fit for live performance bassists and is known to be used by Marcus Miller, Melvin Davis, and others.

While Ken Smith is most often associated with through-neck construction designs, this one is a bolt-on.

If the through-neck design has a fat, smooth sound, this one has more attack and punch.

Although this is a lower-end model, it does not mean that the quality is lower in terms of wood or integration, and the price simply reflects the low number of man-hours involved in manufacturing.

The body is made of figured walnut and tiger maple.

The Tiger Maple in particular appears to be comparable to the higher grades.

The top Figured Walnut also has a different grain pattern from that of the higher grade, but there is no difference in quality as a tonewood.

The fingerboard is Morado.

It is currently set up with Hi-C specs, but the original nut is included.

It has not been tested to see if the original nut fits correctly.
