EMAD is Evans' proprietary sound control system. It includes two interchangeable urethane mute rings (damping rings) of different widths, which can be easily attached or removed without removing the bass drum head. Made of 10-mil, single-ply film, the two removable damping rings allow you to create a wide range of sounds, from an open sound to a tight attack or a fat sound with a rich low end, all with just one bass drum head.
