Epiphone EB-1 Satin Cherry 1999 Electric Bass

Here for sale we have an Epiphone EB-1 Electric Bass from 1999 in Satin Cherry finish. Made in Korea, this bolt-on constructed guitar comprises a Mahogany body, a C-shape Mahogany neck, and a 20-fret Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include a three-point quick release bridge, chrome hardware, and a viola-shaped body. The bass comes fitted with a Sidewinder humbucker that is wired to a master volume and a master tone.

The satin neck plays well, offering a quick and easy playing surface to navigate, with plenty to hold on to in terms of profile without being overly chunky. The non-cutaway body allows for a seamless transition between body and neck making playing in the upper register an absolute breeze. These models originally came with a metal stand because Epiphone wanted to create a bass that could transform into an upright bass in one swift motion.

The Sidewinder humbucker is thick and meaty sounding, with a thumping low end, punchy mids and fairly muted highs, overall providing a solid foundation to a mix that leaves plenty of room for other instruments to be heard clearly. The volume and tone controls are quite interactive so if you dial in your amp a little brighter than usual you can get some great attack that can easily be dialled back on the tone control.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition. The front face of the headstock demonstrates light scratches which are visible under direct light and the tip of the headstock presents indentations and scuff marks which slightly discolour the finish. 

Neck: Overall very good condition. The rear of the neck presents some small indentations and scratches at the 9th fret treble side of the rear neck. It is hard to discern any other markings on the neck and fingerboard. 

Body: Overall good condition. The bass does not come with it's original extension stand, this exposes the interior wood in the hole it has left. There are also indentations along the bottom edge of the guitar which discolour the finish, exposing the wood underneath. The rear face lower bout also demonstrates an indentation and scratches at the treble side next to the back plate and the jack socket plate is cracked at the screw holes. 

Condition of Frets:

The frets show moderate signs of use, not affecting playability. Denting and flattening of the frets is noticeable through the 1st and 2nd fret. All other frets show light signs of use. 

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod Condition: Fully functional and can be adjusted. Truss rod tool; (4mm hex) not included. 

Hardware Condition: Fully functional with light signs of wear. The tone knob has been replaced with a gold volume knob. Original tone knob not included. 

Structural Condition: No concerns or issues to note. 

Height of the string from the 12th Fret- Treble 2.5mm - Bass 3mm
