About This Listing

For sale is a 1997 Gibson Flying V ‘67 Reissue in Cherry, a true relic of rock 'n' roll history. This guitar, accompanied by a non-original hard-shell case, carries the battle scars and stories of countless gigs. Its well-worn exterior, adorned with scratches, dings, extensive finish checking, and faded marks from long-lost stickers, tells a tale of a life well-lived.

What sets this Flying V apart is the scalloped fingerboard, a modification that adds a unique touch to the neck, offering a thinner profile and an extraordinary playing experience. If you haven't experienced a scalloped fingerboard, you're in for a treat — it's a distinctive feature known for its comfort and playability.

While the bridge pickup, pickguard, and nut have been replaced, the guitar retains its original spirit. The Seymour Duncan Invader high-output pickup now gracing the bridge complements the original 500T pickup, although the latter is absent. Despite these alterations, the guitar remains free of cracks or structural issues, with a straight neck and original frets showing minimal wear.

Rated a solid 7 out of 10, this '67 Reissue embodies the essence of a vintage rock machine. The comprehensive photos provided give you an up-close look at its unique character and modifications. This 1997 Gibson Flying V ‘67 Reissue is more than an instrument; it's a piece of rock history waiting for the next chapter in its story. If you have any inquiries or require further details, feel free to ask. Thank you for considering this vintage-inspired Flying V.

Product Overview
Gibson returned the Flying V to its roots in 1990 after experimenting with numerous aspects of the design throughout the '80s. Eschewing the offset knobs and beveled edges from the previous decade, Gibson returned to one of the earliest standard production versions of the Flying V from 1967 for inspiration, using a more traditional triangle-knob layout, and plain mahogany body woods. The Flying V was rebranded in 2003 to the Flying V Factor X.
