Ibanez RS1010SL-MS 1983 Roadstar II Steve Lukather Signature

Welcome to another fine guitar from The Old Europe! Please make sure to read the entire description below carefully, and look at all the pictures.

General introduction and background:

Incredibly beautiful Ibanez RS1010 Steve Lukather signature guitar, made in Japan by Fujigen in 1983. This is the older model with 21 frets and the non-matching headstock.

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately.

Measurements, weight and other specs:

-Scale:  648 mm

-Nut: 42,5 mm

-Weight: 3,76 kg

-Pickups: The original Ibanez Steve Lukather pickups, measuring at 12,23k (Bridge) and 7,21k (Neck), controlled with two push/push pots (Master Volume and Master Tone) and a 3 way toggle. The push/push pots allow splitting of both pickups into a very nice sounding singlecoil mode.

-Body: basswood

-Neck: slim C, jumbo frets, maple with ebony fingerboard.

Condition:

-Body: Very good condition with some traces of use, one bigger “dong” just above the tremolo (please look at the pictures); harmless lacquer fissures in the neck pocket (see pics)

-Neck: neck is straight, trussrod works fine, the frets are in good condition (8/10) with some tiny dents (little to no buzz). I personally do not think a refret is in order any time soon.

-Hardware: Overall in good shape

-Electrics: fully functional

-Originality: all original except for the tremolo arm, which was now replaced by a similar looking one that fits perfectly.

Sound and Playability:

-Playability and string action: The playability is excellent with a string action of 1,3 mm set up at the 12th fret.

-Sound: The bridge pickup delivers a considerable output and therefore can serve even harder genres than Steve did, yet the guitar is overall a very versatile piece, especially with the splitting options. It’s a guitar that you can use for an entire Top40 gig with no issues or worries. Please also watch the video.

As always, the instrument has been serviced completely and is ready to be played immediately.

-Frets polished and fretboard oiled

-Electrics serviced

-Bridge / string action adjusted

-There are what I think 09 gauge strings on it that still do

-Ready to be played (just tune it up);

Auxiliary stuff:

-No original case or gigbag available. It will be wrapped well, and put into a sturdy cardboard box with lots of filler material. If you wish I can buy a fitting case at your costs.

AFTER DELIVERY: After receiving the item, please inspect the package for obvious damages and make photos if there are any. After unpacking, check the item immediately for damages or other undocumented flaws. I accept a 14 days return and will pay for shipping if the item is in a different condition than described upon arrival. Please note that I will only take the item back entirely, but not grant any reduction of price and generally only accept returns if the item was unaltered after arrival.
