2008 Gibson SG Limited Run SG Special Guitar Center Exclusive

Northwest Vintage Guitars is proud to present a lovely Guitar Center Limited Production Gibson SG Special in beautiful Blue Mist Metallic and featuring and Ebony fretboard and Humbuckers instead of P90s....on a Special!?  Weird, confusing, and awesome.  This is a rare collectors Gibson SG special made in the USA with matching blue headstock.  There is some confilcting onformation out there, but it appears this is one of 100 or 200 produced for Guitar Center as an exclusive offering in 2008.  

Today, the SG stands as one of Gibson's most popular and best selling guitars. Its distinctive twin cutaways, pointed horns, and beveled edges have made it one of the most inspired and iconic designs in the history of guitar making. The versatile Gibson Special offers the best combination of features and value in the Gibson line, with its streamlined, solid and lightweight mahogany body, and traditional 22-fret mahogany neck, dot inlays, and "C" neck profile. Add a pair of Gibson's 490R/490T Alnico magnet pickups— packed with traditional humbucker tone and enhanced highs— and you've got yourself a powerhouse SG. Seriously great tone out of these pickups.  The 490 in the neck will read around 7.50 ohms and has a PAF tone with a little more clarity on the high end.  The 498s are a little hotter at around 7.8 and possess a great presence and punch that really shines on overdrive.  .85”-.98” Neck depth

She has a few bumps and bruises, scratches, and dings as pictured, but she wears them well.  it's a player grade with a filled lacquer chip on the headstock as pictured.  Very little playwear and setup and ready to play.
