comes with 7/8 inch brass axles - custom order
Two options for installation! See details below....
Brown vintage NOS BRUCE Handle with ribbed back and axle pins only...allowing you to reuse your pre-existing handle brackets.
Correct for some 60s through 80s cases.
The handle is a new-old-stock brown "Bruce Company" handle, MADE IN THE USA. With bruce logo on the leg. Bruce made a variety of handles in this style, that were used on Gibson cases in the 70s and 80s.
Durable brown handle looks great on tweed, brown, tan.
The handle measures 4.25 inches from center of leg to center of leg.
Great quality, made in USA in Pennsylvania.
- Use your pre-exisiting case hardware and simply install the raw handle using the two axles. This keeps your case original. ( These are "spinning" axles as oppose to being the non-spinning or "fixed' type).
If you need help...send me a pic of your case!
Shop Talk - to install the axles, slide the axle through the handle and case hardware so that the open end of the axle points to the inside of the handle. Then, use a small hammer to "ball peen" the open axle end, creating a burr which locks the axle and handle in place. This is the same process used at the factory and it will have a factory appearance. Works great! Instructions are included. (TIP: place a counter-weight or another hammer against the opposite end of the axle that you are tapping...this will make your hammer taps more meaningful).
These axles do not fit the Lifton type heavier duty plates that have "non spinning" axles. Send me a pic if you are unsure.
Axle pins are 7/8 inch.
