Sugi, led by world-class craftsman Makoto Sugimoto, is renowned as Japan's premier musical instrument workshop.

The NB5 is the most luxurious NB5 ever made, with the finest woods finished to the highest specifications and packed with the best solutions available at this point in time.

Each piece has been thoroughly conceptualized, and from the looks to the sound, it hits the highest NB price point.

------------------------------------------------

The NB5 is a luxury instrument with a 40-year old Honduran mahogany body back, which was sold out immediately last time.

The quantity is completely limited, and since all of the wood has been used up in this order, we do not expect to reproduce it again.

The concept of "the best specs for the best wood" has been launched to bring to the forefront the great things about the NB in terms of both sound and looks.

------------------------------------------------

The wood side has also been significantly upgraded...rather than just using the best of the best, almost impossible to reproduce, making it truly one-off worthy of being a one-off.

The Honduran mahogany used for the body is a 40-year-old vintage wood, and we were told by President Sugimoto that he had purchased the wood from the personal property of the chairman of Dyna Instruments, which is renowned for its elaborate OEM production of various brands. We were so excited to purchase the wood that we held on to it and used it specially for this order.

We are very grateful for the opportunity to use this kind of wood, as Honduran mahogany itself is becoming scarce.

As I felt in the "Warehouse Collection," a previous project in which all the fretboard, body, and top material was made from vintage wood, the material that has been cut several decades ago produces a wood tone with a mysterious depth, and in a very good sense, a sound of a properly solid wood. The sound of the solid wood is very good, and the core and axis are very stable.

Ebony is also selected for the fingerboard.

It is a Cameroon Ebony, and it has the black atmosphere that we look for in ebony, and it has a refinement that cannot be achieved with something similar or different such as striped ebony.

This time, the fingerboard inlay uses a block position that combines wood and resin.

Nuances of different textures are mixed to create a good "hook".

This is a new option other than bad inlays in Sugi's high-end models, and all the textures are finished without missing a beat.

This time, the top material was selected at our workshop in Nagano, Japan.

Sugi is able to enjoy different materials in different seasons depending on when they arrive, but just before this order, I heard that "we have received a huge amount of good burl maple...I am so happy...", so I went there to select the material. It became a super selection festival of Barr Maple.

I think we selected from more than 40 pieces.

It was a hell of fun for both those who saw it and those who showed it... We overcame agony and hesitation and secured the wood that we thought was the best.

As you can see in the photos attached to the product, the white material is so heavily wooded that it can be used in a wide variety of cooking methods.

There are several nuances of color that can only be brought out in white wood, and among them, colors in the middle or subtle nuances such as "blue," "green," and "pink" are particularly influential.

This time, we ordered a fade blue color, which is one of the most challenging of all.

The name Sugi gave me was "Atoll Green. It means "atoll.

It is true that there are parts where the color looks slightly green, and the light contrast between the basic light blue and the blue makes it look even more luxurious.

The color is like the transparent sea, like a coral reef formed in a ring, and combined with the appearance of the wood, the result is a one-of-a-kind piece that is truly unique.

In terms of hardware, Hipshot is used for the bridge.

We have used various types of bridges in the past, but this specification is indispensable to produce a straight, uncompensated sound.

The pitch between the strings is 19mm, and the pickups are finished with the same pitch.

The initial speed of the sound and the prevention of vibration loss are remarkable.

In terms of sound, by selecting a mahogany body and ebony fingerboard, which is well known in the Sugi lineup, a sound with a rich midrange and a solid mid-low range has been achieved.

This is a 34inch specification, which minimizes the sense of discomfort even when switched to a long scale 4-string.

This is the perfect instrument to spend a lifetime with, and we hope you will take this opportunity to try this top quality instrument.
