This is a 1960s Japanese Kawai / Silvertone hollow body with 1970s Czechoslovakian Jolana Diamant neck mashup The body is in great shape with a few dings, dents and scratches, I installed supports under the top and bridge and now it is stable and ready to ROCK!
The neck is maple with a 24-3/4” scale with a medium D carve. I gave it a 1-11/16" bone nut, fresh 12” radius and new Jescar 47104 frets- the trussrod works great and it plays fast and easy.
The neck is Jolana’s version of a LP with modern geometry, which allows for modern studs and a modern TOM bridge, matched with new Gotoh tuners and a new trapeze- it holds tune and intonates perfectly.
I gave it a set of my Type13 “silver foil” single coil pickups and they do not disappoint, it sounds how it would have back in the 60s.
This is an fantastic guitar, that plays better than it ever did.
