Late 1970s Greco Japan FV-600 Flying V (Refinished Purple Sparkle)

We often get great guitars from Japan that have been neglected over time; this allows us to lovingly restore them, but also sometimes put our own twist on them when the time calls for it! This FV-600 from the late 70s was used and abused, covered in thick, splotchy black enamel spray paint. Unfortunately the original finish was too far gone to save, so we decided it only appropriate to give the instrument a new heart and soul! We've professionally refinished the guitar in a deep purple sparkle with loads of shine and personality! We wanted to make a highly unique instrument, but also respect this Greco's colourful history. The following professional work has been completed by us here at Deep Tone Music:

- Stripped mahogany body and neck and refinished in custom 2 pack sparkle purple finish

- New wiring harness with 3 x 500K CTS pots, Switchcraft output jack and 3-way switch and 0.047uF tone cap, vintage style wiring

- Wax potting of both original Maxon pickups

- New strap pins

- Fret level, crown and machine polish of new frets, full setup with 10-46s

Aside from this, the guitar retains most of its original parts and is in really great shape; no cracks, breaks or structural issues before or after the work was completed. The guitar had been professionally refretted at some point with very comfortable medium jumbo fretwire and has been done very well, and we've updated it with a fresh level crown and polish for silky smooth playability. Two original Maxon pickups drive the heart and soul of this guitar and sound absolutely ripper at that perfect PAF-esque output range. These pickups are capable of a huge variety of tones and sound epic when cranked up. Playability is great with a 24.75" scale and a slim late 60s neck profile with super smooth rounded edges for lightning fast runs.

If you're looking for a vintage guitar with loads of vibe that is completely different from the rest, look no further than this purple dream machine!
