Ibanez SC420-BC Black Cherry 2001 Electric Guitar

Here for sale we have an Ibanez SC420-BC Electric Guitar from 2001 in a Black Cherry finish. Made in Japan, this guitar features a Mahogany body, Maple neck, SC neck profile, a 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard, an Ibanez V1 humbucker in the neck position, and a Seymour Duncan Humbucker in the bridge position that are both wired to a master volume, master tone and a 5-way pickup selector.

The SC profile neck in satin finish plays very well, feeling quick and slim, giving great thumb positioning, well accommodating more technically demanding playing styles. The dual cutaways and rolled neck heel give unobstructed access to the upper register and the jumbo fret wire feels rock solid, making for a great playing surface that is easy to bend on.

The Ibanez V1 and aftermarket Seymour Duncan Humbucker are high-output pickups that deliver powerful and articulate sound for modern rock and metal players. The low-end is tight and controlled, with a punchy and defined character that gives the overall sound excellent clarity and definition. The high-end is crisp and detailed, with a smooth and musical character that balances the pickup's overall tone perfectly.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall very good condition, the front face demonstrates light scratching of the finish, most notably towards the top edge. There is light denting to the point of the headstock.Two small screw holes are visible on the front face of the headstock either side of the truss rod cover where a string tree bar used to be fitted.

Neck: Overall very good condition, the neck demonstrates consistent yet light denting, which can be felt under the thumb. The fingerboard shows light indentation, particularly around the first frets.

Body: Overall good condition, the body shows consistent chipping to the finish around the edges, showing the wood beneath.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, not affecting playability.  There is considerable material remaining for any future work the new owner may wish to perform.
