Star-Lord (Heavily Experimental Corrupted Treble Boost) | The Sound of Justice FX

Star-Lord is my take on the incredible Dallas Rangemaster Treble Booster. It is so much more than just a treble booster! It’s louder… can push more then only treble frequencies… and can go from a somewhat cleanish boost to a fully corrupted horrible biased fuzzy drive. There are literally so many excellent new pedals available today nailing the classic Rangemaster Treble Booster sounds. Star-Lord has those traditional treble boost characteristics but then goes far beyond… which is where I use it.

I built it using silicon transistor as opposed to germanium so it doesn't have the usual temperature issues changing its sound and I can keep building these forever because germanium is getting pricey and hard to find the right ones. Believe me though, you won’t be thinking “if it only had germanium.”

There is an insane amount of gain that an amp set clean can fully distort with. The EQ goes from treble focused sounds to deep amounts of lows. You’ll have to experiment with the controls to find both classic and your new classic tones.

Controls:

• Body - from all the bass you could ever want to just the right amount focused on treble frequencies
• Corrupt - acts like a gain knob that goes from cooler gain to a hotter gain the over the top to corrupt mis-biased gain
• Boost - output level while adding gain and grit
