The Ibanez Axe Design Lab Standard SML721-RGC Rose Gold Chameleon is a modern interpretation of the legendary Saber design, combining agile playing characteristics with a hip multiscale construction and flexible electrics. While the streamlined Nyatoh body and Wizard neck with nickel-free fretting promise hassle-free handling of the guitar in any situation, the scales rising from 25" to 25.5" promise a balanced sound for every string. On the guitar amp, Ibanez Q58 humbuckers with dyna-MIX10 circuitry provide a multi-faceted sound with optimal suitability for the clean and overdrive channels. Last but not least, Ibanez completes the standard SML721-RGC Rose Gold Chameleon Multiscale guitar from Axe Design Lab with high-quality Hardware in the form of mono-rail bridges and Gotoh clamp tuners.

In the design of the Standard SML721 electric guitar, Ibanez pays special attention to first-class playing characteristics and a harmonically perfectly balanced sound. Accordingly, a multiscale construction with moderately ascending scale lengths between 25" and 25.5" (635 mm to 648 mm) is used, which gives each string optimal tension and reproduces even slight drop tunings cleanly. Extremely thin, ergonomic shaping allows the Nyatoh body to hug the body with ideal balance, while the flat "Wizard" profile of the five-piece maple-walnut neck promises excellent playability in all registers. Besides fluorescent side dots, furthermore the nickel-free jumbo frets made of hard Jescar EVOgold material prove to be an innovative highlight of the electric guitar.

As a pickup for the Axe Design Lab SML721 guitar Ibanez chooses two Q58 humbuckers known from the headless Q series. As contemporary ceramic pickups, the dual coils convince with a clearly defined sound image that cleanly reproduces even complex chord structures and skillfully asserts itself with powerful mids and crisp but never harsh highs even in the densest Mix. In order to elicit, particularly multifaceted clean and overdrive sounds from the guitar amplifier, Ibanez also combines the Q58 pickups with the complex dyna-MIX10 electrics, which thanks to the 5-way pickup switch and age switch provides a total of ten different switching of the pickups or their coils. In addition, general volume and tone controls are available for adjusting the sound.

Of course, Ibanez completes the Axe Design Lab Standard SML721-RGC Rose Gold Chameleon with reliable add-on parts, whose golden finish perfectly matches the extroverted flip-flop finish of the electric guitar. Six Ibanez Mono-Rail bridges are used here on the body, which anchors the strings bombproof and sound-promoting in the body. Due to the precise adjustment possibilities, the individual bridges also guarantee exact intonation and comfortable string position, even when alternative tunings are used. Last but not least, the Gotoh MG-T Locking tuners on the headstock bring the electric guitar safely into the correct tuning.
