1970's Dumble OD-50W Overdrive Special Guitar Amp Head & Cabinet Dennis Herring #49193

WORKING CONDITION:  This amp is in excellent working condition and functions beautifully. Its tonal quality is truly its own and after the first note or chord one gets the sense that one has finally come home---the search is over. The touch sensitivity of this amp is exceptional, and the sustain and desirable feedback occur without effort.

When adjusting switches, there is some minor static due to non-use over the past few years. However, we have chosen not to service or clean the amp as the static is minimal and tolerable, and it should clear up with use alone. The new owner may opt to have it cleaned further, but it is not necessary as everything is fully operational and in excellent working condition.

PHYSICAL CONDITION: Very Good - This legendary amp comes from the personal collection of session guitarist and record producer Dennis Herring. There are a fair amount of scuffs, dings, and tears around the chassis of the head and cab from years of use, primarily in the studio. We cleaned the amp just lightly but decided to keep the ingrained dust and dirt intact and let the new owner decide how clean they want it. All of the external and internal parts are intact and unchanged from the master Dumble's hands.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: This listing is for an early Dumble OD-50W Overdrive Special Guitar Amplifier Head & Cabinet w/ Road Case owned by Dennis Herring. 

In the late 1970s, Dennis was approached by Howard Dumble at a rehearsal studio in LA Valley. Dumble, impressed by Dennis' guitar skills, offered to build him an amp, which he did. This amp soon replaced Dennis' 1964 Fender Deluxe-Reverb as his main session amp for many years. It remained with him for decades as part of his recording arsenal while producing hit records. Now, a rare opportunity presents itself for someone to acquire a rare original owner Dumble amp!
