This is a late 1990s/early 2000s USA Gretsch kit in be-bop sizes. They are the Broadkaster line - satin finish and gunmetal hardware. They are identical to the USA Custom Gretsch drums with other finishes and chrome hardware. Legendary Jasper shells. The drums sound fantastic - they have that sound. The edges are like new and the drums are functionally just like new. They do have some cosmetic issues, which I tried to capture in the photos. The bass drum was drilled for a cymbal mount and a cowbell mount. I ditched those and put carriage bolts in the holes. There are the expected dings on a gigging kit, and some snare rash on the small tom. It looks like the original owner may have replaced diamond mounts for the floor tom legs with the techware mounts that are there now - which was a good move. There's a bit of unfinished shell showing above a couple of them, but no extra holes. There is some flaking of the gunmetal coating, but I haven't noticed any new spots in years. None of this is noticeable 5 feet away. You won't find many of these satin burnt orange kits with the gunmetal hardware. It's a lovely combination. I get comments all the time about how pretty these drums are, and how great they sound. I've had these drums for close to 15 years and it's just time for them to move on. If you're looking for a great sounding kit that you don't have to worry about taking out of the house, this is it. Grab these for less than half of what a new Gretsch USA Custom kit will cost.
