GREAT sounding Trojan.
Very close in tone to the best of the early wooden Triolians which are my favorite And BETTER sounding than some of them.
Also bigger, fuller and richer tone than (2) 1930 El Trovadors I've had.
Please remember that Almost ALL these old Nationals need $$$ work to make them play' like the new National reissues
I've bought old Nationals that were advertised as having "good" action only to find I could drive a Volkswagen under the strings when i received the guitars.
Not this one. It's had a neck set, new fingerboard and frets by Marc Schoenberger, widely considered as one of the country's best (if not top) National repair guys. His work don't come cheap, nor should it as he is an absolute artist at what he does
The fingerboard and frets look so good and vintage that i doubt you would have noticed if I didn't tell you. That's what a great job Marc does. Perfect action (see third photo) with a TON of saddle left if you want to play finger style only. Maybe it's the great saddle break angle (very uncommon!!!)) or the overall setup but this Trojan has a BIG deep tone that few wood bodied vintage Nationals have.
