The new pickups are a modern take on Petrucci's tone. They are thicker and more compressed than any of the other Dimarzios he has previously used in his signature guitars. Because of this the bridge is tighter feeling without sounding harsh or thin. The neck pickup harkens back to the days of Air Nortons and Liquifires with the super juicy rounded pick attack.
