Hofner 5000/1 Deluxe Beatle Bass
Gently and seldom played, very good condition. Some light scratches on pick guard. The neck and back are essentially flawless. There is a small ding located on the left-lower quadrant of the body (photo 9) and is hardly noticable. Fret wear is minimal, gigged with it maybe a dozen times. Neck is true and straight. Clean pots and switches. Plays like butter and weighs only 5.05 pounds. I purchased this bass new in 2002 from North Coast Music. Serial number (C06177) indicates completed 17June2002, the 7th unit out that day.
She features 2 volume controls, 1 for each pup. 2 on/off switches, and a rhythm/solo switch for volume boost. Equipped with LaBella 760FHB2 flat wound short scale strings and a fresh Boveda 2-way humidity control in the case.
The 5000/1 violin bass was Hofner’s Deluxe version of the 500/1. Hofner discontinued this bass in 2015. The 5000/1 features gold plated hardware, ebony fretboard, a Hofner “Diamond” headstock inlay and beautiful, highly sought after Bird’s Eye Maple back and sides. Truly a beautiful piece. Original hardshell case included.
