(NEW) The newest entry in the Traditional line from Collings Guitars is also their smallest 12-fretter ever, a lovely little parlor guitar that looks elegant and plays like butter. With a scale length of just 24 7/16", the 12-fret neck to body joint and its small dimensions, this guitar is feather-light and extremely comfortable to play. The nut is 1 3/4" and the string spacing at the saddle 2 5/16", with a new neck carve that is a slight bit more substantial than the standard modified V, but nowhere near as full and chunky as the necks on the Traditional dreadnought and OM models. We think many people who have been anticipating this guitar will instantly fall in love with the playability.
The sound of our Sitka/EIR model is very sweet and sparkly, with a slight bit of small-body compression that makes it a hi-fi interpretation of the vintage parlor sound.
All Traditional models have Sitka braces, fish glue construction, thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish and are built to be highly responsive. This guitar includes the adorable and form-fitting Collings made vintage case, which fits neatly into most coat pockets (just kidding!)
Check out Raymond playing the Chauvin/Joplin rag "Heliotrope Bouquet" which uses a good portion of the sonic range of this guitar in standard tuning.
