Dupioni silk is produced by having two silk worms spinning their threads in the same cocoon. Their silk threads are slightly different in color, which creates the subtle iridescent shimmer so characteristic of Dupioni silk.  Matka silk is a hand loomed material made from the silk of the mulberry silkworm. It has rough  natural irregularities that give it a texture similar to tweed. It is medium weight and extremely durable, and is a favorite among designers for its elegance and versatility.
