LMI Motor City Big Block DI.

Inspired by the direct recording tones that first surfaced in the Motor City, this design expands on the conversation by using a large core LMI 50600BRN (50K:600R) transformer, a new LMI designed tone shaping attenuation network, a new output loading network and different options for output impedance. LMI's transformers are USA manufactured and are ROHS. This offering is in effect a tone shaping DI box which makes it an indispensable tool in the recording studio or the live scene alike.

Features a 4 position rotary switch that selects 4 different input taps on the LMI 50600BRN transformer's primary. Each tap offers a different level of signal attenuation and EQ curve. 50K is the most attenuated and requires the most gain, but also offers the flattest curve, while at the opposite end of the scale, 12.5K is the least attenuated and offers the most skewed EQ curve.

The two toggle switches labeled Bird Grease (bridging load) and Slink (600 or 300 ohm output), offer loading and impedance options for the output of the Big Block DI. Due to the exceptionally large core transformer and high inductance numbers, the bottom end on the Big Block is magic. It is equally at home on direct guitar and keyboards. Dual TS jacks for input and thru, a mini toggle switch for ground lift (normally in the down position).

Constructed with an aluminum chassis, UV printed aluminum faceplate with clear and concise labeling, metal collar XLR balanced output jack and rubber feet for tabletop or floor placement.
