Olivia's Vintage would like to present this 1966 Ampeg AEB-1 in its original Cherry Red finish. This is the earliest serial number we have seen #019. It includes all the earliest features; slab (not carved) insides of the body on the outside of the "F" holes, plastic nut, no thumb-rest and a slab (not curved) tailpiece. It has a great playing neck with great frets. It's all original and 100% complete with the exception of the mute from underneath the bridge cover. A non-original gig bag is included. The bottom edge of the body has a small hairline crack which is only a cosmetic issue. There are lots of nicks + dings, blemishes in the finish and other cosmetic wear. There appears to be finish that was touched-up around the base of the headstock, but no indication of a break. The bass itself remains structurally sound. All electronics work and sound great as its original design was to emulate the sound of an upright bass. The original pots actually date to 1962.
