The Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer is quite possibly THE most iconic drum machine of all time.

One of the most influential inventions in popular music it attracted a cult following among underground musicians during the 80's for its idiosyncratic sounds, particularly its deep, booming bass drum, and became a cornerstone of the emerging electronic, dance, and hip hop genres, popularized by early hits such as  "Sexual Healing" by Marvin Gaye.

Inspired by the 808's unique electronic tones, subsequent generations of artists and producers have created entire genres based around its inimitable sounds.

Manufactured between 1980-1983 the TR-808 was used on more hit records than any other drum machine.

This rare offering is for sale now. It was professionally serviced in April 2020 and is working beautifully. (receipt available)

I hung on to it for a bit longer after it was serviced but I'm now ready to let it go to a new home.

It has a midi modification allowing for a midi keyboard to be connected for triggering sounds as well as the stock standard DIN sync port.

Photos reveal normal wear and tear as you may expect for a vintage piece - but generally it's in excellent condition.
