From the company's launch in 1976 until the early '80s, Kramer used aluminum necks with wooden inserts for its guitars and basses. The DMZ 2000 was part of the second wave of Kramer guitars with aluminum necks. This guitar is very similar to those made by Kramer founder Gary Kramer's former business partner, Travis Bean.

Years of Production: 1978 - 1981

Body Style: Solidbody

Wood Composition: Walnut/Maple body, Aluminum neck with wooden inserts, Ebonal fingerboard
