This is a professionally upgraded Schecter Diamond Series Elite 5 bass.
Neck-through design, 35" long scale for a punchy low B string.
The shrill EMG pickups were replaced by Nordstrand Bigrig 5 pickups (US$300 cost), each of which can be switched between humbucker series, humbucker parallel or single coil operation.
In addition, the blend pot was replaced with a 6 position rotary switch for all possible pickup combinations: each PU separately, series or parallel (each normal or filtered). The series mode sounds fatter and has more midrange, whereas parallel has more articulation and sounds more scooped in the mids.
The preamp was upgraded for 18V operation for increased headroom and punch.
If the batteries get drained during a gig, pulling the volume knob switches over to passive mode so that you can finish your job.
