Dave Smith Instruments Sequential Circuits Prophet-6 Polyphonic Analog Synthesizer Desktop Module

This has been an in-store display unit. It has a few scuffs on the wood cheeks (end pieces) and front (please see photos). None of these impact the unit’s performance—they’re purely cosmetic—but we’re discounting it to offset the wear. All photos are the actual unit.

The Prophet-6 desktop module is Dave Smith’s tribute to the original poly synth: the Sequential Prophet-5. But it goes a step further. The Prophet-6 takes the best qualities of the original Prophet-5—true voltage-controlled oscillators, filters, and amplifiers—and adds enhancements such as studio-quality effects, a polyphonic step sequencer, an arpeggiator, and more.

The result is pure, unadulterated analog tone with the stability and reliability of a state-of-the-art modern synth. Or as Dave puts it, "It’s the result of our effort to build the most awesome-sounding, modern analog poly synth possible.”

Features include:

• All-analog signal path; discrete VCOs and filters
• 6 voices; 2 voltage-controlled oscillators plus a sub oscillator per voice
• 2 discrete filters per voice: 4-pole resonant lowpass and 2-pole resonant highpass
• Digital dual-FX section (true bypass maintains a full analog signal path)
• Multimode arpeggiator; 64-step polyphonic step sequencer
• A ton of buttons and knobs, and who doesn't love buttons and knobs?
