About This Listing

Olivia's Vintage would like to present this 1967 Ampeg ASB-1 Horizontal Scroll Bass/"Devil Bass" in a Cherry-Red finish. It has been restored by Bruce Johnson. The underside of the pickguard has an information label stating the work he did: "I scraped the body and neck to the bare wood and repainted them in polyurethane. The color scheme is a close match to the original, except I left the back of the neck clear/amber, where it had been all red. I replaced the fingerboard and frets, and machined up a new truss rod nut. I also reinforced the tailpiece anchors with brass cross pins, and made up a new wiring harness. All of the other hardware is original." It includes the original hardshell case. This bass looks great with only very minor nicks + dings and other minor cosmetic wear. The bass itself remains structurally sound. All electronics work as its unique original pickup was designed to emulate the sound of an upright bass. It has a great playing neck with great frets.
All Illinois residents please add 9.25% sales tax. We are happy to ship internationally.
