Here we have an absolutely beautiful and rare Gretsch Synchromatic 300 model hollow body guitar. This guitar is on consignment with us in our store. From our research we believe this guitar was built sometime between 1946-1949. Serial number 2029. The 300 model features a 17" body surrounded by beautiful tortoise shell type binding on the body, neck and headstock. Spruce top, maple back and sides, maple neck with some beautiful figuring. Ebony finger board with pearl block inlays. Stairstep bridge. Rare "Lightbulb" style headstock design and art deco style appointments. At some point much later on in time the original owner (pictured with the guitar playing for the troops as a military musician after his service in WWII) added a Shadow pickup and single volume control to electrify the instrument. This guitar is in overall VERY nice condition for being over 70 years old. There are some spots where the binding has lifted and separated a bit but has been reglued and remained intact. (see sound hole pic) The sound is big and warm and sounds beautiful amplified as well. Also included is the original case that is well worn but functions perfectly with all working latches and handle. Please contact us with any questions you may have and we will do our best to answer them. Shipping to lower 48 United States only as well as local pickup in our store. Thanks for looking.
