Even at this affordable price, this NS Pulse II retains the build quality and attention to detail of the high-end Spector USA basses, which is a testament to the commitment to quality seen in the the entire line. The action is nice and low and the fretwork is very good, and the locking bridge keeps you in tune for days. This particular bass is only 8.7 lbs as well, which is definitely on the lighter side for a 5!

We love the combination of tonewoods on this one: swamp ash, maple top, roasted maple neck and ebony fretboard is surely a recipe for a focused, clear and bright attack, which pairs well with the powerful EMG pickups and versatile TonePump Preamp giving you a substantial low-end boom. 

While tonally and aesthetically focused with heavier genres in mind, we truly appreciate the wide tonal palette of this bass. A wonderful marriage between a simple design with sophisticated tones, this may very well be the only 5-string you need in your toolbox.

The NS Pulse II represents the core of Spector’s iconic design. The three-dimensionally carved body is a trademark of the Spector brand and provides a uniquely comfortable playing experience for all bassists. The NS Pulse II basses feature a highly figured Quilted Maple top and Swamp Ash body paired with a three-piece Roasted Maple bolt-on neck, complete with a Macassar Ebony fingerboard. The roasting process results in a neck that provides enhanced stability & resonance, while the ebony fingerboard ensures clear note definition and projection. This model is also equipped with EMG active pickups and the Spector TonePump Jr. active pre-amp. This combination yields a range of impressive & aggressive noise-free tones. Additional features like a locking bridge, illuminating side dots, and a custom 12th fret inlay round out an already impressive feature set.
