Blue U47 Dual Back Plate, European Latvian Capsule, Omni or Cardioid, Tuchel Connector, Atlas Pro Audio purchased this microphone from Skipper Wise in the late 1990s.
Tube is a RWN NEUHAUS EF86. Seven additional photos have been added recently which show the inside of the body. Please see photos above.
Used - Condition is excellent. Comes with heavy duty flight case, microphone, PSU, cable, & shockmount. We purchased it directly from Skipper Wise, who was the owner of Blue microphones at the time and the owner of this microphone.
This microphone has a reconditioned original Telefunken/Neumann U47 body with modern restored Blue components inside. Modification and customization of this microphone was done by Blue Microphones and carries a Blue serial number. This microphone was purchased directly from Skipper Wise of Blue.
Please note, that this is not considered to be an original U47 because the insides are modernized.
Sound-wise, this is an amazing microphone to have in your mic locker. Smooth and warm mid-range, classic proximity effect in cardioid. Omni position has cleaner mids, no proximity effect, and works very well on female vocals.
It is comparable to any modern U47 clone in quality and priced similarly to a FLEA, Telefunken, or Wunder, etc; with the added bonus of being in an original microphone body. This microphone has two patterns, cardioid and omni.
US Ground Shipping with insurance is approximately $140. The cost of shipping takes into account the large dimensional weight of the item and the high insurance value.
