Eico 625 basic tube tester in good working condition. This tester is a good choice for guitarists/musicians or audiophiles who like to "roll" tubes. It will allow you to test a wide variety of tubes on a Pass/Fail basis. The roll chart inside the unit does not work. I will provide links to the manual and the tube chart which you can print or save electronically. The tube chart gives you the same test settings as the roll chart for the tubes that can be tested on the 625. Please see photos for cosmetic condition.

The EICO 625 is a very early and quite common tube tester which has long since been discontinued. In 1958 the EICO Model 625 listed for $34.95 US which is roughly equivalent to about $288 in 2014. The EICO mODEL 625 is an emission tube tester which gives you a basic idea of what condition the vacuum tube is in. One thing to note is that the EICO 625 test will not measure transconductance, so this style of tube tester cannot be used to "match" vacuum tubes. For tube matching you will need a tube tester that can measure dynamic conductance. The EICO 625 tube tester has many different tube sockets including ones for 4 and 5-pin tubes.

Inside the EICO 625 tube testers there is a vacuum tube under the panel. The lone 6H6 diode is used to rectify one of the AC filament voltage for the neon indicator bulb used for identify "Tube Short". When I bought the tube tester, the enclosure was rusty. I removed the rust and painted the chassis enclosure the bright red color.

The shipping amount listed for locations outside of the United States is a placeholder only. Upon an order from an international buyer or buyer outside of the continental US I will use the buyers address to calculate the actual shipping amount. If it is less than $100 I will refund the difference. If it is more than $100 I will provide the cost to the buyer and let them decide if they want to move forward with the purchase or cancel. I realize international shipping costs are very expensive. If you want to buy the tube tester, buy your own shipping label and e-mail it to me, I’m fine with that. I think you will quickly learn that most sellers lose money on shipping.
