here we have a quirky cold war guitar. the pickup switches apparently were the same kind used for light switches. lots of weird decisions (probably my least favorite tailpiece of any instrument ever.... had to hold it down with painter's tape until the strings were up to tension or it would fly at me.... it's fine with string tension but not the smartest design). 5-pin din connector (cable is included but if i were to keep it I'd replace with a metal plate and standard 1/4" jack). these originally came with a nut that would lift the strings to play like a slide guitar... they usually fell off. this was replaced with a standard nut before it got to me, with the homes filled with a coin and badge (sorta ups the kitsch factor). plays as expected and all controls work. pickups aren't super high output but that's also to be expected. tuners aren't great but are functional. fretwork is horrible as expected. there are numerous finish cracks, including by the neck pocket, but they're only in the finish so don't effect stability. I'm really selling you on this, huh? it's playable, is expect it to be suitable for punk/noise/shoegaze type of stuff where the aesthetic would really fit (plus it can howl under gain so if you find joy in harnessing feedback to make some interesting stuff you should be able to have fun with it... i did while testing)
i took everything apart, cleaned and polished everything, strung up with d'addario 10-46. will pack well and send with reverb safe shipping to make sure it gets to you. thank you for coming to my TED talk
