About This Listing

                 **********************<<<<<<REDUCED!>>>>>>***********************

3/14/2015:  Hi there $975 represents the last reduction we can offer.  We are going to leave the guitar listed for another 48 hrs, but will regretfully be pulling it should it not sell at that time.  I definitely need to move this guitar for my husband so we can put that toward his medical expenses, which grow exponentially every day.  I'll also be including a Stark headstock tuner, carbon fiber Dunlop Jazz III picks, two GruvGear fretwraps to further sweeten the deal.  Thanks for looking!! :-)

Up for sale is my husband's 2011 Flaxwood Aija Electric Guitar.  It has been exceedingly well cared for and is only being sold due to his battle with Multiple Sclerosis.  He purchased the guitar new and has been his primary guitar ever since [despite having had other guitars - 99% of which he has previously sold].  I am posting this guitar to my account as he is unable to type and personally answer questions about the instrument.  That being said, he prepared something for me to post directly from him regarding the guitar - hopefully it will assist those interested in purchasing the guitar and will answer any questions you might have:

"My Flaxwood has been a revelation to me.  In 28 years of playing guitar, I've never owned a finer guitar [in my personal opinion], despite having owned more readily recognizable brands.  This Flaxwood Aija was made in Finland in September of 2011.  While there is now a website where you can purchase Flaxwood guitar parts...and either assemble them yourself, or have it assembled by someone else...mine was made by the skilled craftsmen in Finland.  Everything about the guitar is amazing.  The fretwork is beyond compare.  The construction is perfect.  The neck feels amazing and has an inviting satin feel.  The guitar, while not traditional aesthetically, feels and looks great.  The body is downsized - very compact, very comfortable.  It is extremely resonant and acoustically alive, and sustains like nothing I've ever owned.

It is obvious I love the guitar...I say so unapologetically.  The truly most amazing attribute of the guitar is it's stability.  It is "climatically inert" [I don't know if that's a thing, but it is to me].  We have brutal seasons in Ohio...hot humid summers and frigid dry winters.  This guitar never changes and is consistent, time in and time out when you take it from the case.  It does have a fully functional truss rod should you desire more or less relief, or if you make radical string gauge/tuning changes and have to make subtle changes due to the resultant fluctuation in string tension.  It is currently setup with a virtually flat neck, low light action, and is tuned in open C major [C,G,C,G,C,E] using D'Addario EXL140s [10-52].  Anyone interested in changing the guitar to standard E could easily do that by installing regular 10s [10-46] and would most likely not have to make any neck relief or bridge height adjustments.

The guitar is in excellent condition.  There is zero fretwear. I know that it will make anyone an amazing, versatile guitar.  Thanks for your time."

Included with the guitar is the original paperwork from Flaxwood, all the adjustment tools that came with the guitar, and a Jim Dunlop string winder.  Also the guitar comes with a stunning [you have to remember, I'm a woman and I appreciate the look of things] Hiscox case.  There are two very small superficial scratches on the outside of the case, but the case can easily be described as excellent as well.  All in all it's an amazing value on an adult owned, well cared for Finnish made instrument.

If there's anything we didn't address, please feel free to contact us and we will be glad to help.  Thanks for your time, and thanks for looking.  Specifications are per Flaxwood....
