Eastman SB59L-GD 2021 Gold Top

This SB59 was a brand new in-stock item at our store but we recently discovered a hairline crack along the back of the headstock. We have professionally repaired the crack here in our shop (see photos) and stand by the work. The repair is solid and the guitar is perfectly playable—and priced to reflect the damage and repair.

Following in the footsteps of another iconic ’59, the SB59L-GD features a solid maple gold top over a 1-piece mahogany body. The neck is solid mahogany with ebony fretboard and pearl crown inlays—very playable, but with a comfortable, soft-V heft. The top and fingerboard are both bound in ivoroid. The instrument features a thin, nitrocellulose finish for superior tone, appearance and aging.

A pair of Seymour Duncan Classic ’59 pickups gives the SB59L-GD all the attack and sustain you expect from a maple/mahogany classic, and nickel Gotoh hardware completes the traditional look with dependable, modern functionality. A hardshell case is included. We’re big fans of the original American favorite, but for the money, these gold tops from Eastman are awfully hard to beat.
