48mm nut width for guys with monster working hands, and equally good for others wanting to try advanced finger picking techniques.
Now fitted a set of Fender nines (as I think I mention further down...) and they suit its crunchy tone so well.
And I forgot earlier to mention that the unique but perhaps rather gimmicky rotary tuners, are in fact smooth and so easy to use as you roll them between your fingertips not twisting them about from the wrist... I would have them on all guitars!
Aslin Dane was a New York based and inspired brand, and with those unique rotary tuners and the distinct design it seems a shame the brand has not survived till now... and a big shame there are not more of these on the market.

These were new to me but I have found people saying they liked them as much or more than their Fender and Gibson! I loved the look and build quality of the neck and body, but the electrics were an absolute joke! The tone control was on full dull because the wires had been soldered to the wrong terminals, and the claimed coil tapping did nothing because the pickups do not have the extra wires required for coil tapping!

Despite that bad start, now it has some tone it really does have some tone! The single coil conversion gives a clear crunching edge for chords or brittle classic lead guitar, and the humbucker at the bridge with its compressed mid range is pure and powerful.
I put tens on it before I started the set up phase; now it is settling in I might change it to nines for a more fluid feel, but I will play it a bit more tomorrow before I change anything... the chances are that either way you will like it different... in fact this afternoon I noticed how the two pickups switched together have a nice country tone, so you if you like country you might string it up with elevens or even thirteens.
