Original vintage USA Rickenbacker 481s “slant fret” electric in excellent playing condition, with lots of wear and player mods. These 481s’ are amazing and very rare instruments, and this one has been “improved” with Bigsby b5 tailpiece and dog bone bridge, schaller tuners, and some curious and very beefy countersunk neck mounting bolts, as well as what appear to be homemade copper pickup bases. (RF shielding?)
At any rate, the result of these years of use, and abuse is a terrific axe, as the real players tend to be. The bigsby is an inspired upgrade; more robust than the R style floating tailpiece, with much better sustain. The neck is arrow straight and true, and those rarest rickenbacker slant humbuckers are simply amazing. Killer rock machine.
