Wow! Original vintage Burns/ Baldwin “split sound” guitar in lovely playing condition, complete with custom “split sound” pickups, and vibrato. Pickup selection settings for “jazz, split sound, treble, and WILD DOG!!!” These split sound jazz guitars are some of burns/ Baldwin’s finest, rarest and most collectible, and have become cherished grails to players and hoarders alike. There’s something gretschy, something stratty, something voxy, and just some straight weird about it, and it’s really a unique axe with a vibe and sound all its own.
The neck is arrow straight and lightning fast, original van Ghent tuners hold rock solid, even with vigorous surfing on the custom, extra long merl Travis style bigsby arm. The split sound pickups are amazing, -kind of strattish, kind of jazzmaster/ p90? - and she’s a joy to play. One of the good ones. Period.
Cosmetically, she’s very nice indeed, with gobs of vibe and patina, exterior finish and play wear, including some pictured pickguard cracking, all earned, all skin deep, all included at no extra charge. She’ll ship in a quality hard case, not pictured. Enjoy'
